Sony Ericsson Rocks Out the W700 Phone

Fri, 07 Apr 2006

Sony Ericsson yesterday unveiled their 8th Walkman phone, which builds upon the successes of earlier models. The new W700, which will come in a "titanium gold" colour in most markets, will be available in the second quarter of this year.

The W700 is tri-band consisting of GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900MHz, and has a cool 2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, and other features that make this phone a definite position on the "I want to get" list. While continuing the legacy of the Walkman line of phones the W700 promises a good amount of cool and exiting features that would get any cell phone fanatic screaming for joy.

The cell features a MP3 player, as well as a camera, and with the large 1.8 inch TFT display with a maximum resolution of 176x220 pixels its something to deeply consider when getting a cell.

The W700 also comes equipped with a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot for all the pictures and music that you’ll ever need. Inside the box with the cell, users will also find a 256mb Memory Stick PRO Duo, but with sizes like 2GB available on the market, users will most likely just get that even though the 256 is a nice start. With a 2GB card capable of holding up to around 500 songs, the W700 is a cell phone that is great for all kind of situations, whether it’s long flights or taking a quick shot of something.

"The W700 builds on the legacy of the first Walkman phone, the W800," said Jan Wäreby, Corporate Executive Vice President, Head of Sale and Marketing, Sony Ericsson, in a statement. "This phone will appeal to anyone who wants a quality music player in their phone for occasional listening."
