Samsung, Versace Unveil E500 Versus

Wed, 02 Aug 2006

Samsung has announced a new line of mobile phones designed by legendary Italian fashion label Gianni Versace .

Though LG has the stylish chocolate phone and Motorola offers the Dolce and Gabbana Razr, too few phone companies have broken into the world of designer labels .

‘Samsung E500 Versus’ combines Versus brand and the unique colour of Samsung’s original SGH-E500.

SGH-E500 is a clamshell mobile phone integrated with 1.3 megapixel camera, music player and Bluetooth and comes originally in champagne-gold colour.

‘Samsung E500 Versus’ offers three colour options: white and gold, white and antique pink, and black and silver .

One of the phone's selling points is the Mobile Box feature, a tool that allows users to apply different hairstyles to pictures of themselves.

Samsung E500 Versus also boasts a 25mm LCD screen that doubles as a mirror a must-have for on-the-run makeup jobs.

The phone does not feature PDA/email functionality and may not make sense for those looking for an all-in-one handheld.

The design members of Versus and Samsung will be actively engaged to work on a range of new projects arising from the convergence between fashion, multimedia and telecommunications.

According to Samsung, the E500 Versus will be released in Italy by the end of August. However, the company has not announced a release date for the UK . Pricing and availability information is not yet available.
