Sony Ericsson K618i announced

Mon, 21 Aug 2006

Sony Ericsson will soon be releasing the K618i, an upgrade of the Sony Ericsson K610i mobile phone, which is the Hutchinson 3 and O2 version of the mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson V630i, which is Vodafone’s version, and the Sony Ericsson K610im, which is the i-mode version.

The main variations of the K618i are cosmetic. It has mainly been made for the different networks, and is most likely to be seen on Orange and T-Mobile .

It boasts a 2 mega-pixel camera with 2.5 x digital zoom, video recorder, and 256MB internal memory with extra memory available through memory stick micro cards, MP3 player and Bluetooth .

The K618i's display is only a 176x220 pixel unit, but this is an acceptable trade-off for the handset's lightweight and it will be good enough for most people . Overall, the K618i shows typically stylish Sony Ericsson design ; it's a smart looking device that is pretty unmistakable in its origins.

You can listen to your music wirelessly as it also comes with a stereo Bluetooth headset in the mobile phone package.

"The K618 is the ideal phone to bring the benefits of 3G-enabled mobile entertainment to a wide audience," says Jan Wareby Corporate Executive Vice President, Head of Sales and Marketing, Sony Ericsson. "It will have appeal with the business person on the move, who will appreciate the freedom and choice that the latest mobile technologies can offer. It’s a great-looking, desirable phone that you’ll want to keep close to hand."

The Sony Ericsson K618i will be available in 2 colour schemes as is becoming the norm with new Sony Ericsson releases, such as the Sony Ericsson K610i White and Sony Ericsson K610i Red. The two colour schemes will be bright white and vibrant black and will both be available in Q3 of this year.
