New mobile phone company Neo which has been showing concept designs and a handset it claims is almost ready to launch its first handset, the Neo 808i with unique design elements and good features.

Pushing the limits of phone design, Neo will be launching its first mobile phone, the 808i that will be one of the smallest and lightest phones in today’s marketplace. Measuring only 65mm x 40mm x 13mm and weighing less than 90g. Despite its minuscule size, the Neo 808i includes a nice assortment of features, with a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and 128MB of on board memory that is expandable with microSD memory cards up to 1GB in size.

The tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz) device includes a 262k colour TFT LCD display, MP3/MP4 compatible media player, FM radio, and USB 2.0 connectivity. Neo also tell us that the bundled 530mAh battery will be good for 130 hours standby time and 1.5 hours talk time .

Neo is dedicated to launching new and innovative designs into the market. Pallav Patel, President of Neo Products Limited, says, "Over the years, mobile phones have become a necessity, without which our lives would come to a stand still. Always in our hands and in the eyes of the people around us, we all want our phones to be unique. Neo phones have a look that will set them apart from all other phones. We believe that phones need to be more than just a necessity; they have to be an extension of our personalities and be a USEFUL fashion accessory instead. We all want phones with the latest technology. Neo encapsulates that technology within a distinctive shell. We don’t intend to be just another mobile phone brand that will be lost amongst the crowd. We are introducing a fresh, innovative and dynamic new brand; whose primary focus is - "Your Style". Being Neo’s ethos, "Your Style" is the backbone of all our creations. And it is this approach that will keep our customers wanting to see what’s next."

Neo, which has regional offices in Dubai, Cyprus and UK, is currently in talks with distributors and networks, and hopes to launch the Neo 808i along with a range of other phones in the first half of 2007.
