Motorola introduced the new MOTOKRZR and MOTORIZR handsets, along with their complementary Bluetooth headsets, the H601 and H800. Embodying Motorolas design philosophy, the products are impressively narrow, contain a sliding form factor and integrate new advances in colour, material and finish.
Keeping with the four letter naming convention, Motorola says the new handsets will be just as thin as previous models.
The Motokrzr, which is more than a centimetre slimmer than its predecessor, the Motorazr, is available in two varieties: one for GSM networks, and the other for CDMA networks. The GSM handset features a 2.0 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth audio, an integrated music player, 1GB of memory, and phone directory and messaging applications. The CDMA handset features all of the above along with touch-sensitive music controls and location-based services.
The Motorizr features a 2.0-megapixel camera with programmed point-and-shoot keys. The handset also features a built-in music player that supports a range of formats and a video player . The Motorola H601 and H800 are Bluetooth headsets that take their design cues from the Motokrzr and the Motorizr.
Additionally Motorola has also announced the MOTORAZR maxx that offers HSDPA and EDGE technology, VGA and 2.0 megapixel cameras for two-way video calling, and an integrated music player . External, touch-sensitive music keys and up to 2GB of optional removable microSD memory enables easy and immediate access to music.
The handsets will be available in the second half of 2006.
