There are few things more frustrating than leaving the house for a night out and then realising you havent set up your video to record your favourite program.
The Remote Record service makes it easier to fit TV around busy lifestyles. The service allows viewers to send a recording request anywhere in the UK and works with all versions of Sky+ including the new Sky HD boxes.
Remote Record allows Sky+ customers to text details of the programme they wish to record to a special number. The service will then set their Sky+ boxes to record the show remotely.
Owners of GPRS and 3G mobile phones can also browse a seven-day programme guide on their handsets to select the show they want.
Brian Sullivan, Skys Director of Customer Products and Services, said, "Remote Record is perfect for those situations when you hear about a TV show and want to record it there and then, or if you want to catch a particular programme and youre stuck at work, waiting for a delayed train or even on holiday. We're constantly innovating and adapting our products to give customers the best TV experience, this new service is a world first that adds to the choice, flexibility and control millions of Sky+ users already enjoy."
The Sky+ Remote Record service will also be available on Sky.com soon allowing customers to request a recording direct from the website.
