Samsung to launch the worlds slimmest slider phone

Thu, 25 Jan 2007

In the mobile phone industry, the slimmer the phone the better. Samsung has taken note of this and has announced the launch of the slimmest mobile phone to date, the Samsung Ultra Edition 10.9 .

At only 10.9mm thick the Ultra Edition 10.9 is the thinnest ever slider phone, taking the crown from Samsungs popular D900 .

The new slim mobile phone has a similar design to its predecessor, the Samsung D900. The all-black slide phone offers a simple interface, with a circular controller and call start/end buttons that accompany a fair sized screen, with a numeric keypad that slides out from underneath.

The new phone offers an integrated MP3 player, a 3.2 mega-pixel camera, video playback and a video out port so you can connect it directly to your television to view your pictures. It has a huge 80MB of internal memory and an expandable memory slot which you can always extend the storage capacity via the built-in microSD slot .

It's not due out until March, and supposedly will come with 80MB of memory.

The previous record for “world's thinnest mobile phone” was also held by a Samsung handset, the X820.

No price details has announced yet.
