Sony Ericsson has given a glimpse of the of its latest W880 Walkman phone .
Sony said that by incorporating the Walkman brand into a mobile phone has been one of the great success stories in the mobile market. Over 15 million Walkman phones have been sold since the introduction of the first Walkman phone, the W800, in August 2005 and Sony Ericsson is now acknowledged as a leader in mobile music.
Sony Ericsson has not revealed much information about the new model. But it looks like a GSM 3G candy-bar phone (due to a camera on the screen side of the handset) with UMTS network support and a large 240x320 display .
Rumours have it that there will be a 3.2 mega-pixel camera, a FM radio and a 2GB hard drive, with availability in black or white.
Sony Ericsson said, "The W880 Walkman phone will blend astonishing good looks with all of the music-centred features that fans have come to expect from the Walkman phone family ."
The W880 is expected to be launched within the first half of 2007. Prices have yet to be confirmed.
