Sony Ericsson Walkman W200

Mon, 15 Jan 2007

Sony Ericsson have unveiled the new W200 Walkman phone, which is great but there is a downside. The phone can only store 37 music tracks on it's 27MB internal memory and the 128MB card that comes with the phone, so if you want to store more songs some extra memory will have to be purchased separately.

"The W200 is an affordable music phone that compliments your existing MP3 player," says Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson . "It’s not everyday that you want to carry lots of devices with you, and with the W200 you have enough music storage for your current playlist. And if you tire of these, the FM Radio allows you to quickly tune-in to your favourite drive-time show."

Apart from its music-playing function, the handset also features a VGA resolution camera with 4x digital zoom, integrated photo album and it also comes equipped for video messaging and web browsing.

A full HTML compliant browser is also present, and the device's PIM applications can be easily synchronized with a desktop PC .

Sony Ericsson's W200 Walkman phone will be available in two colours (Rhythm Black and Pulse White) and should have enough power for up to 18 hours of music listening.

No word on the pricing yet but it is expected to hit the stores towards summer 2007.
