The HTC Touch Diamond mobile handset has been crowned "European Smart Phone 2008-2009" by members of the European Imaging and Sound Association known as EISA.
The Touch Diamond, HTC’s flagship handset, was applauded by the members for its combination of innovative design and impressive functionality.
Florian Seiche, vice president of HTC Europe, said the firm was "excited" to have received the EISA accolade.
"HTC is committed to innovation and the Touch Diamond continues to stretch the limits of mobile technology by integrating advanced functionality into a thin and compact design achieving the ultimate in high performance," commented Mr Seiche.
The vice president added that the HTC Touch Diamond targets the no–compromise, tech-savvy consumer who demands the performance of a smartphone without the aesthetic compromise that many other devices on the market require.
The EISA association consists of 49 of some of the most influential lifestyle and gadget publications across Europe .
