The Motorola RAZR V3 is still riding high as the most popular mobile handset in the world, new data has revealed.
According to the May 2008 Admob mobile Metrics report, 4 of the top 6 places in the list of most popular mobile phones worldwide belong to Motorola handsets . The other two places are held by the Blackberry 8100 and Nokia N70 handsets .
The mobile phone manufacturer continues to dominate the US market, with 4 of the nation’s 5 most-popular handsets belonging to its range.
However data for the UK, where consumers are used to more high-end mobile phones, shows a very different picture.
Sony Ericsson handsets firmly dominate with 7 phones in the top 11 places. The popular K800i is the top device, followed by the high-spec Nokia N95 .
Nokia has a number of devices on the list, while the recently released Skype phone and the Samsung G600 also make an appearance.
The Admob data is compiled using log file analysis of the billions of adverts served by Admob worldwide and reflects real life information about which handsets are actually being used on a daily basis.
