Mobile phone advert banned

According to reports in the mobile phones news, the Advertising Standard Authority has banned an LG mobile phone advert in the UK.

The LG advert, which had been shown on UK television, appeared to show a woman using a mobile phone whilst stuck in traffic in a car . However, although LG argued the advert never showed this, the ASA said it was implied.

The ASA were responding to some 33 complaints about the advert, which was for a new mobile phone model. LG complained, and the ASA accepted the complaints, but said that the ad could condone viewers’ using mobile phones whilst driving, and therefore was in breach of regulations.
