New Insurance for mobile phones and modems

3 UK Retail Limited (3) has joined forces with insurance provider Lifestyle Services Group (LSG) to provide cover for customers at a competitive price. 3Cover from LSG and 3, for handsets and broadband modems, will at first be offered in store. It will then be available via the web and telesales and with LSG and 3’s combined abilities, a significant increase in insurance is expected.

Simon Markey, Managing Director of LSG, said "The successful launch of 3Cover is the result of intensive work by teams in both 3 and LSG. I’m confident that with 3’s strong brand and LSG’s insurance capabilities, the partnership will be a great success. Our unique combination of industry expertise, product innovation and operational performance will benefit 3 and its customers for many years to come." The insurance sales will be dealt with by 3 and its sub-contracted agents and LSG will provide policy administration, claims handling and fulfilment. 3Cover is aiming for 48 hour replacement (following claim acceptance) and cover against: loss, theft (excluding theft of airtime), accidental or malicious damage, water or liquid damage and electrical or mechanical breakdown.
