Computer Corp (HTC) has unveiled its new highly anticipated flagship
mobile phone, the
HTC Touch Diamond .
The Touch Diamond is the latest in the TouchFLO-powered line of Windows
Mobile smartphones, following on from the companys initial and successful Touch
phone launched last year.
According to HTC, the TouchFLO 3D interface provides "animated access to people,
messaging,
email, photos,
music, weather, and more".
The Taiwan-based manufacturer said its Touch Diamond phone will offer high-speed
wireless Internet access using
HSDPA and
HSUPA - upgrades to existing third-generation
networks that boost
data transmission speeds.
Other features and capabilities of the smartphone include Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional,
3G connectivity, a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel
camera with
video calling, 4GB internal memory,
Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 256MB Flash, 192MB ROM,
WiFi, GPS, push email, and a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7201A processor.
Furthermore, the sleek Touch Diamond boasts iPhone-beating dimensions, measuring a mere 11.33mm thick.
The phone is expected to be available to customers in
Europe next month, although prices for the model are yet to be announced by HTC.
