Online
retailer Littlewoods and
Mobile Phone Exchange LTD (MPX) have launched an extensive
mobile phone recycling service .
The new Littlewoods service, which is being offered across all of the Littlewoods online stores, allows mobile users to
trade in their mobile for
recycling and receive up to £150 in the process.
Customers are quoted an individual value for each
old mobile they wish to
recycle, given a free postage paid
bag, and receive their
money in as little as 7 days.
Littlewoods said that re-using old
handsets will aid efforts to meet growing demand for used
mobile phones by many people in developing countries.
The company added that the scheme will also make mobile services more affordable to many more people around the world and in many cases "help people gain access to communications for the first time".
Geoff Walters, Managing
Director at MPX, said: "We are delighted with our trade in partnership with Littlewoods . This innovative approach to re-using old handsets creates new value for both Littlewoods and their customers. Its a real win-win scenario."
