A recent survey conducted by market research company IDC and sponsored by Nortel Networks Corp indicated that the most important item a person would choose if they had to leave home for 24 hours would be their mobile phone .
Over one-third of those surveyed would take their mobile phones, whilst under 30 per cent would choose their wallets instead. The survey investigated whether workers are hyperconnected by using multiple devices and applications.
The survey found that some 16 per cent of workers are hyperconnected through their technological choices, including using mobile phone handsets . The number of hyperconnected workers varied around the world, but the study forecast an increase in the next five year period.
