The newly released Google phone has been hit by a new software problem, so far affecting users in the US and the UK.
The recently discovered bug causes the G1 phone to interpret any text entered just after the phone has been switched on as a command.
The bug was discovered when an owner of the phone found typed the word "reboot" into a text message soon after starting up the device, causing it to restart.
Google has rushed to fix the problem in the US, with users receiving an update for the phones software.
The company has announced the update, which is automatically installed on the smartphone, will reach UK users by the end of the week.
A statement from the company said: "We've been notified of this issue and have developed a fix. Were currently working with our partners to push the fix out."
The mobile phone, which uses the Google-developed Android operating system, was released in the UK at the start of the month and is available on contract on the T-Mobile network .
