Mobile operator 3 has announced plans to launch a mobile phone device offering one-touch access and easy uploads to the highly popular YouTube video service.
Following on from its Skype-centred mobile handsets, the company is now promising to introduce a phone designed around the Sony Ericsson Walkman range that will allow users to upload videos directly to YouTube in just three clicks.
Once a video has been shot, users click send, followed by the YouTube button and then the upload icon. Users will then receive a text message with a direct link back to the clip.
The phone will also feature a dedicated soft button on the handset with the YouTube logo that links directly to the site.
The handset, which will be co-branded between Sony Ericssons Walkman and YouTube (with 3 a subsidiary logo), is due to be launched in the Italy first, before making its way to the UK early next year.
According to 3 Italia, mobile service usage increases by around one-third when direct access to a service is supported.
