Carphone Warehouse Cuts Cost Of Nokia 5310 Music Phone

Wed, 14 Jan 2009

The Carphone Warehouse has slashed the price of the Nokia 5310 Comes with Music device by more than a third, sparking rumours of poor sales.

The high street phone retailer is now offering the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic handset, bundled with a year's worth of unlimited music downloads, for £82.18 despite only being on sale for less than three months.

Available on pay as you go only, the mobile handset is also being offered in seven exclusive colour variants: white with silver, blue, pink, orange or green and black with pink, red or blue.

Carphone said the £45 price cut on the Nokia handset is part of its routine reductions for its January sale.

However, analysts say sales of the device have been "lacklusture" so far as customers do not understand how the unlimited music proposition works.

The Carphone Warehouse first launched the Comes with Music service from Nokia back in October at a cost of £130.
