Hyundai Mobile has announced its MB-910 mobile phone watch will enter the UK market this summer, following a "successful launch" in mainland Europe.
The mobile device was unveiled at last month's Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona, where the company claims it received "significant" interest.
Hyundai says the new GPRS tri-band wrist-based handset will go on sale late in the second quarter of 2009 at a "competitive" price of £200, SIM-free.
The MB-910 watch phone features music and video playback functions, a basic WAP browser, a Bluetooth headset, MMS and SMS messaging, 128MB of built in memory, touchscreen controls, tri-band calling and a 132 x 176 pixel resolution display.
It weighs just 58 grams and Hyundai claims it offers up to three hours of talk-time and around 70 hours of battery power in standby.
Calls can be made and received by using the bundled Bluetooth headset, or by talking directly into the watch itself.
Roland Prinz, director of Hyundai Mobile UK, said: "The Hyundai Mobile brand is about the latest cutting edge technology at a price point which is accessible to the masses."
"Already a hit in Europe, we have high hopes for the MB-910s entry to the UK market."
