T-Mobile has confirmed it is to offer the new HTC HD2 touchscreen smartphone to its UK customers over the coming weeks.
The mobile operator has revealed, via the coming soon section of its website that the much anticipated HTC handset is scheduled to go on sale sometime this month.
However, the site surprisingly states that customers will be able to enjoy "loads of applications to download from Android Market", despite the handset being powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 and HTCs recent announcement that it would not use the Google Android platform in the near future.
HTC chief executive Peter Chou said that although the company could make the HD2 an Android phone, it is "working hard" on getting "excitement about Windows Mobile back".
The HD2 comes equipped with a stunning 4.3-inch multi-touch display, a super fast Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity and GPS .
