Vodafone has become the first UK operator to carry the highly anticipated HTC HD2 smartphone .
The mobile phone giant has announced that it is offering the Windows-based device for free on 18 and 24-month contracts, starting from £40 and £35 per month respectively.
Both deals include unlimited web browsing and email, unlimited landline calls and texts and a whopping 900 cross-network minutes.
The HD2 is the third and most expensive mobile device to come from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, following the Tattoo and the Magic.
It comes equipped with a huge 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, multi-touch capabilities and support for 65,000 colours, and a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and video recording capabilities.
The stunning new handset also comes with a super-fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a dedicated graphics processor, Bluetooth 2.1, HSDPA connection, WiFi, GPS, a MP3 player and FM Radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack, micro-USB slot, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.
