Mobile network operator 3 has confirmed it is to offer the HTC Hero smartphone together with popular music streaming service Spotify .
From next month, the new bundled package will be available to 3 customers on a £35 a month, two year contract, with an additional handset fee of £99.
The 24 month contract will include unlimited Spotify Premium for mobile and PC (worth £240 on its own), 750 cross-network minutes, free 3-3 calling, unlimited texts and unlimited email and internet browsing.
Spotify, which won this years Innovation of the Year Award from T3 magazine, allows users to stream ad-free music from a selection of over six million songs.
Charlotte Blanchard, director of products &services at 3, said: "This partnership continues our commitment to bring popular internet services to our customers. Spotify Mobile is a fantastic digital service which gives consumers the ability to enjoy and share music in an affordable way."
Spotify global head of business development, Faisal Galaria added: "This is a very exciting deal for Spotify . We're intent on offering people a high quality, simple yet powerful portable music experience at a fair price and we're thrilled to be working with 3 to bring Spotify to UK music fans."
The touch-screen HTC Hero, which was last week voted the Stuff magazine and T3 Gadget of the Year, is the first Google Android -based handset to launch on the 3 network and also the first to take advantage of Spotify Premium .
HTC Europe executive director, Jon French said: The HTC Hero is about personalised communication and therefore has a natural synergy with Spotify and 3 ."
