Samsung Launches Child Focused Touchscreen Smartphone

Samsung, the world's second biggest phone manufacturer, has released a budget touchscreen phone for kids.

Aimed at the younger generation of mobile users, the CorbyS3650 offers touchscreen capabilities and smartphone-like functionality without a smartphone price tag.

The mobile handset incorporates Samsung's TouchWiz interface and features a 2MP camera with smile detection, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a music player and radio and a MicroSD slot or extra storage.

There’s also Quad-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, EGDE support, a browser with one-finger zooming functionality and access to all the most popular social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace .

A statement from Samsung said: "The Samsung Corby, available across Europe later this month, is a full-touch handset that places users at the center of the social media revolution with a wide range of social networks support."

"The new mobile complements the company’s touch screen strategy, ‘touch for every lifestyle’, by targeting the youth market." The Samsung Corby will come with a price tag of around £130 SIM Free and will be available in four bright colours when it launches in the UK later this month.
