The Puma Phone a new sporty designed smarptohne produced by Sagem for the sportswear brand Puma has been released in the UK.
The compact mobile phone/sports device comes equipped with a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash, and an MP3 player, as well as a number of sports features including a pedometer, a stopwatch, a yachting compass and a GPS tracker.
It also boasts a solar panel battery cover, meaning it can be charged while on the go. According to reports, one hour of sunlight is enough to send 30 text messages or let the user enjoy 90 minutes of music.
Other features include a second VGA camera located on the front of the handset for video calling, 3G, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connectivity.
Commenting on the phone, Puma chairman Jochen Zeitz said: "The PUMA Phone is consistent with everything PUMA stands for joy, environmental responsibility and individuality."
"Using the device to directly connect with the Puma community through services such as live sports feeds and mcommerce, the Puma Phone delivers not only a rich Puma experience, but uses sustainable technology such as integrated solar that is completely consistent with our mission to become the most desirable and sustainable sportlifestyle company."
The Puma Phone will go on sale initially through the Puma website (Puma.com) at a SIM-free price of 399.
