Mobile phone operator O2 has announced it is to stock the first Huawei-branded phone in the UK, the G7002.
The entry-level touchscreen device features a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen display, an MP3/MP4 player, FM radio and a micro SD card slot for extra storage space.
The 2G handset is available from the O2 website for £40 on the companys Pay As You Go plans, and is expected to go on sale in UK retail stores "shortly".
Steve Alder, O2's group and UK devices general manager, said: "We are pleased to be partnering with Huawei to bring the G7002 to our customers."
"The G7002 makes owning a touchscreen phone even more affordable and helps us continue to offer a great range of products to our customers."
Huawei UK &Ireland's general manager of device Nicola Philbin added: "Huawei is committed to providing high quality tailor-made handsets to customers, and the launch of the G7002 reflects our flexible branding strategy based on individual operator needs."
