Mobile network operator Three has become the latest mobile carrier to confirm it will offer the new HTC Wildfire smartphone to consumers in the UK.
The lower spec, mini version of the popular HTC Desire has already been snapped up by T-Mobile and Virgin Media . It replaces the Tattoo as HTCs entry-level Android phone .
The Wildfire looks like the HTC Desire and comes with many of the same features. Running HTC's lauded SENSE user interface and Android 2.1, it features a 3.2 inch capacitive QVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus and the same 528Mhz processor that powered the HTC Hero .
Other specifications include WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, 384MB of RAM, 512MB of flash storage, a micro SD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also includes instant access to social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
Sylvia Chind, head of branded devices at Three, said; "It's great to be adding the HTC Wildfire to our ever growing Android range.
"The HTC Wildfire brings together your communications platforms, making sure you never miss an update, message or tweet."
"When staying in touch on the move a strong 3G network like ours is necessary," she added. "Pairing this affordable Android phone with our network continues to give our customers great smartphone choices."
Three said it will announce a UK release date and pricing for the HTC Wildfire shortly.
T-Mobile customers will be able to get their hands on the handset from the 14th of June 2010, but the company is yet to confirm prices.
