The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone will launch in the UK on the 31st March, various industry sources have revealed.
The companys latest mobile handset is the first to be certified with the PlayStation brand and comes with slide-out PlayStation gaming controls, a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5.1 mega-pixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing webcam .
It runs Android 2.3, is powered by a 1 GHz mobile processor in combination with an Adreno GPU graphics processor, and also comes with 3G and WiFi connectivity and up to 32GB of storage.
Sony Ericsson has confirmed that the much-hyped Playstation Phone will have 50 games ready at launch, and will go on sale with six pre-installed titles, including Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10 and The Sims 3.
The Japanese firm has also revealed that the launch of the Xperia Play will be backed by its "biggest marketing campaign ever"
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is currently available to pre-order on pay monthly deals with Vodafone, O2, Orange and T-Mobile .
