The Samsung Galaxy S II has replaced the iPhone 4 as most popular smartphone in Britain after becoming the highest selling handset of the past month.
Latest figures from price comparison site uSwitch.com show that Samsungs flasgship handset is now the most popular mobile based on both sales and live searches.
Apples iPhone 4 is still proving extremely popular in second place, while HTCs popular range of Desire handsets the HTC Desire, Desire HD and Desire S are currently ranked 3rd, 4th and 5th.
"Samsung has leapfrogged Apple and HTC's best handsets this month with its Galaxy S II deservedly stealing a march," said Ernest Doku of uSwitch.
"With a number of great deals being offered by networks and retailers, this powerful and slick Android smartphone could be around and dominating the chart for a while."
Samsungs original Galaxy S smartphone was ranked sixth by the uSwitch mobile tracker, followed two more HTC phones the Wildfire and Sensation - in 7th and 8th position, the Blackberry Curve 8520 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc in 10th place.
Doku added: "HTC and Android are still big winners this month, with HTC claiming half of the Top 10 handsets and Android now powering 80 per cent of the chart."
"This really stokes the fire in the manufacturer wars, which is set to intensify with an amazing selection of mobiles . This could include iPhones oft-rumoured follow up due to launch in the coming months."
