Tesco Mobile has been named as the best mobile network for both pay monthly and pay-as-you-go (PAYG) services.
The mobile operator was ranked top in both segments in the JD Power and Associates 2011 UK Mobile Phone Customer Satisfaction Study.
Among Britain’s pre-pay providers, Tesco Mobile was ranked highest for the second consecutive year, seeing off competition from O2 and Vodafone with an overall score of 742.
The company performed particularly well in the call quality/coverage; cost of service; offerings and promotions; and handset factors.
Tesco Mobile also ranked first in the pay monthly segment, achieving a score of 741 after performing well in cost of service; offerings and promotions; customer service; and handset.
Second place went to O2 with a score 718, while T-Mobile and Virgin Media ranked joint third with 703.
The ratings were based on the views of over 3,400 UK mobile users, who were all asked to rate their experience of both their phone and the network provider they used.
