First details of HTCs upcoming ultra smartphone the HTC Edge - have been leaked online, and the news is not good for its competitors.
A report by mobile website Pocketnow claims that the Taiwanese manufacturer has created the worlds first quad-core processor smartphone, with the handset being powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset.
In addition to the Edges mind-blowing processing power, it is expected to come equipped with a 4.7 inch 720p HD display, 1 GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, 32GB of internal storage and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera .
The mobile could also be the first to run Googles latest mobile OS - Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and HTCs Sense 4.0 UI.
Users are also expected to get a plethora of improved HTC services like HTC Listen (music store), HTC Read (bookstore), and HTC Play (gaming) hub and HTC Watch, as well as the popular Beats Audio technology.
The HTC Edge looks very much like the successor to the Rezound smartphone, which was released last week exclusively for the US market, and there are fears HTC could follow the same route with the Edge when it launches next year.
If its does make its way to the UK, it could cost in the region of £450 SIM free .
