HTC Desire Most Wanted Android Phone

The HTC Desire is the most sought after Android-based mobile phone in the UK, according to a new survey by TechRadar UK.
A recent poll of around 2,000 TechRadar readers found that nearly half (47 per cent) are planning on buying the impressive Android smartphone as soon as possible, with many willing to ditch their iPhone handset.
The next most wanted Android handsets are the Nexus One from Google and the HTC Legend, which both received 8 per cent of readers’ votes.
The HTC Desire, which is powered by Google’s Android 2.1 operating system, is available to order or pre-order on all UK networks, with O2, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, 3 and Virgin Media each securing deals to offer the device.
The phone’s impressive list of features include a brilliant 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, GPS support, music player, FM radio and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
There’s also GSM, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth connectivity options, a optical trackball, storage capacity of up to 32GB via a microSD memory card slot and a battery that offers up to 6.5 hours of talk time or up to 14 days of standby time.
