LG Optimus 2X To Launch In The UK Next Month

Electronics giant LG has confirmed that its latest smartphone – the dual core LG Optimus 2X – will officially go on sale in the UK in Janaury.
The Korean company said that Android device will debut in Europe next month, and also announced that legendary movie theme composer Ennio Morricone will be making exclusive ringtones for the phone .
The LG Optimus 2X features a 4 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, HDMI and DLNA connectivity, a micro-US port and up to 32GB of storage via microSD .
It is also the first mobile phone to be feature a dual-core processor – a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core chip – which is designed to offer increased performance without the problems associated with heat.
“Dual-core technology is the next leap forward in mobile technology so this is no small achievement to be the first to offer a smartphone utilizing this technology,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO and President of LG Mobile .
“With unique features such as HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) mirroring and exceptional graphics performance, the LG Optimus 2X is proof of LG’s commitment to high-end smartphones in 2011.”
The Optimus 2X, which will launch with a SIM free price-tag of around £470, will be released with Android 2.2, although the device will be upgradable to Android 2.3 – the latest and fastest version of the Google OS – in the near future.
