LG To Unveil First 3D Mobile Next Week

LG has announced it will officially unveil the world’s first full 3D smartphone, the Optimus 3D, at next week’s Mobile World Congress trade fair in Barcelona.
The phone, which is billed as “the most advanced smartphone to date”, will be able to take 3D photos and videos using its dual-lens camera, and users will also be able to view their 3D images and play 3D games without wearing special glasses.
“The LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue – one of the biggest problems facing the 3D market – with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device,” LG said in a February 1 press release.
The latest mobile phone from the South Korean electronics company produces the 3D effect by showing a different image to each eye on one screen.
It is expected to go on sale in the UK this summer through mobile operators Vodafone and 3, although prices for the handset are yet to be decided.
