Three To Offer Sonys Playstation Phone

Three has confirmed that it will sell Sony Ericsson’s much-hyped Android smartphone – the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – in the UK.
The Xperia Play is the first PlayStation branded mobile and is designed to offer the ultimate mobile gaming experience. It comes equipped with a slide-out D-pad that includes all the familiar Playstation controller buttons.
Other features of the smartphone include a 4-inch touchscreen display, a second generation 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 380MB of RAM, front- and rear-facing cameras and Android 2.3 – the latest version of Google’s Android OS.
Sylvia Chind, head of branded devices at Three, said: “It’s a top-of-the-range smartphone which is why we are so excited to be ranging it on our award winning network.”
The Xperia Play is expected to be officially unveiled by Sony Ericsson on Sunday at the Mobile World Congress trading fair in Barcelona.
Vodafone and O2 have also announced that they will carry the handset, while reports also suggest that Orange and T-Mobile will offer the device to their UK customers.
