Orange UK has extended its mobile offering with the launch of a new own-branded Android smartphone, called the Barcelona.
The Blackberry-like phone, which is listed as ‘coming soon’ on the Orange website, runs Android 2.2 Froyo and features a 2.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2 megapixel camera .
It also comes with HSDPA, 3G and WiFi connectivity, GPS, HD Voice, an FM Radio, video calling functionality and a battery that provides seven hours of talk time or 12 days of standby.
The Orange Barcelona will be available for free on 24-month contracts of £15 per month or more, while pay as you go fans will also be able to get their hands on the budget smartphone for £139.99 (including a £20 top-up).
Exact UK release dates for the Barcelona have yet to be confirmed, although the mobile handset is expected to go on sale later this summer.
