Tesco Mobile looks to have stolen a march on its rivals in the battle for iPhone 4S sales by offering the new smartphone on a 12 month contract.
The deal, which is available on the Tesco Mobile website, offers 250 minutes, 5,000 text messages, 1GB of data and unlimited access to BT OpenZone Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, for £25 a month plus an up-front handset (16GB) fee of £335 – equating to a total annual cost of £635.
Customers that want the larger 32GB or 64GB models will have to pay £425 and £495, respectively for the phone, while those who prefer longer tariffs can opt for Tesco’s 24 month contract that provides 3,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data. The two-year plan also comes with no handset charge for the 16GB version.
The Apple iPhone 4S was officially released in the UK and other countries across the globe on Friday 14th October.
While it is not the much-rumoured iPhone 5 model that most people were expecting, it is certainly an improvement on the iPhone 4 with a new A5 dual-core processor, an 8MP camera with new face detection, up to 64GB storage and Apple’s new mobile operating system iOS 5.
The mobile also features Apple’s virtual voice assistant app called Siri, which replies to any question you ask it.
