Sony Xperia S Display Issue Confirmed

Sony has confirmed reports of a screen glitch with its new Xperia S handset – the first smartphone to be marketed under the new Sony Mobiles brand.
In a statement, the company said it had identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint when exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius
It said the problem was due to a fault in the manufacturing process, which it claims has since been addressed.
The mobile phone maker has also promised affected customers that it will resolve the issue “at no cost to the consumer”.
The Xperia S is the first Sony mobile to launch since its split with long-time mobile partner Ericsson late last year.
The impressive piece of hardware is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon MSM 8206 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM for faster performance, and packs a 4.3-inch HD screen with 1280X720 resolution.
It runs the Android 2.3.7 operating system, with a free upgrade to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 on its way, and also features a 12 megapixel camera with full HD recoding capability and Sony’s Exmor sensor technology.
