ZTE Tania Smartphone Enters UK Market

Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE has launched its entry-level Windows Phone, the Tania, in the UK.
The new Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ smartphone is now available to buy now through UK retailer Clove for a handset-only price of £199.
The mobile comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 800×480 resolution, a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5MP camera .
In a statement, Clove said: “We’ve been doing a lot of work with ZTE over the last six months and we’re proud to be supporting the Chinese manufacturer with its foray into the UK SIM-free market.”
The phone is scheduled to arrive at rival retailer Digital-phone on February 21, while Amazon say they will have it in stock by March 1.
As well as setting its sights on the UK smartphone market, ZTE also hopes to become a player in the ever-growing tablet market.
The company is close to launching its first own-brand tablet – the V9A Light Tab 2 – in the UK. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread device is available for pre-order and is expected to hit shelves later this month or early March, priced at around £235.
