The Sharp GX17 is the update to the popular Sharp GX15 and provides a brilliant TFT display.

Similar to the GX15, the GX17 has a good VGA resolution camera - 0.3 megapixels - and supports video recording and playback.

The masterpiece of the handset is the screen, which possesses 65k colours and uses TFT technology for a bright vibrant display that is clearly visible even in sunlight. Even thought the screen is large the resolution is limited to 120 x 160 pixels, making the GX17 not quite as crisp as the more expensive models in the Sharp range.

That said, as an entry-level camera phone, this is one of the best screens and models available, and along with the easy-to-navigate user interface, makes the GX17 a good piece of equipment. Other features include a full range of JAVA based games, a 40-voice polyphonic ringtones, GPRS, WAP, and Bluetooth connectivity.
