Samsung Electronics has announced it is to expand its Galaxy range of mobiles with the launch of four new smartphones .
The Samsung Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Gio and the Samsung Galaxy mini are to be added to the Samsung line-up over the coming months and will be showcased at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Samsung hopes the new handsets will follow on from the worldwide success of the Samsung Galaxy S, which has reached 10 million sales in just seven months.
Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland, said: “Following the phenomenal success of the Galaxy S and the growing popularity of Android, we wanted to make the smartphone experience accessible to a wider audience through an extended portfolio.”
“With the Galaxy Family now offering a complete range of smartphones, combining excellent hardware technology and the latest operating system, as well as engaging interactive content, we firmly believe there is something for everyone, irrespective of whether it is their first smartphone or their fifth.”
Mobile operator 3 UK has already confirmed that it will offer the Samsung Galaxy Ace to UK buyers early next month.
The device runs Android 2.2.Froyo and comes with a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen with HVGA resolution, a 5 megapixel camera, an 800MHz processor, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and 3G connectivity, a microUSB port, built-in GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.
