Sony Ericsson is set to officially unveil several new mobile handsets under its Xperia range at the Mobile World Congress expo in February 2011.
The company has released a press invite which states that those in attendance of the largest mobile phone trade show will “meet the new members of the Xperia family,” although the invite does not provide any hints regarding the identity of the upcoming phones.
Rumours circulating at the moment point to the Sony Ericsson Playstation phone, which may be branded as the ‘Xperia Play’, as one of the devices likely to make its debut at the event.
Mobile website TechRadar also claims that Sony will take the covers off two other devices called the Anzu and the Hallon.
According to the site, “the Anzu is set to be the refresh of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and will also be running Android. This will be landing in the UK alongside the Hallon, a name that’s been thrown around the internet for a while as a possible Sony Ericsson handset.”
Sony Ericsson’s press conference is scheduled for Sunday 13 February, the night before MWC opens in Barcelona.
