Nokia Lumia 800 Smartphone Arrives In The UK

The Nokia Lumia 800 Windows smartphone – one of the most eagerly anticipated phones of the year- has gone on sale in the UK and is now available to buy through various retailers.
The mobile, which was unveiled last month at the annual Nokia World event, marks the first stage of the Finnish company’s attempt to fight back in the smartphone market after losing considerable ground to its rivals.
It has already picked up rave reviews and is being hailed by critics as the ideal phone for social networking and internet surfing.
The device features Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 7.5 mobile OS – codenamed Mango – and Internet Explorer 9, a curved 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touch-screen, a 1.4GHz processor and an eight-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and LED flash.
Users also get one-touch access to social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, a free sat-nav application called Nokia Drive, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and the full suite of Microsoft Office programs.
John Nichols, director of marketing for Nokia UK, said: “The launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 really signals a new dawn for the company, and we wanted to celebrate this with a truly innovative and spectacular event to match this beautiful phone .”
The Nokia Lumia 800 is available for free from Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Three, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U on certain price plans ranging from between £26 and £36 a month.
