Pre-orders being taken for Nokia Lumia 900

The highly anticipated Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone is now available to pre-order in the UK, with an official release date set for April 27.
O2 and Vodafone have confirmed they will offer Nokia’s new flagship Windows Phone device for free on two-year, £36 per month contracts. The O2 tariff provides 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of mobile data, while the Vodafone deal offers 900 minutes, 3,000 texts at 750MB of data.
Phones4u has secured exclusive rights to sell a white version of the Lumia 900, while rival retailer Carphone Warehouse has also confirmed it will be stocking the Nokia smartphone in-store and online from the end of this month.
The Lumia 900 is powered by a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and comes with 512MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage and a 4.3-inch AMOLED display with 800×480 pixels resolution.
It also boasts an 8MP camera with full HD video recording capability, along with a front facing 1MP webcam, as well as all the usual smartphone connectivity options – WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and USB 2.0.
In terms of software, it runs the latest Windows OS – Windows Phone 7.5 – and offers an array of impressive apps including Xbox Live, Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps and Nokia Music.
The mobile went on sale in the US earlier this year and has so far proved very popular, with American consumers and critics impressed by its sleek design, beautiful display and swooping menus.
